Order or hold off?
I have received more enquiries from my long-term partners, as well as new prospective clients. Whether to place an order or hold off has become a very frequent question. My answer remains the same: it depends on your actual situation.
Prices of packaging materials fluctuate all year round, since our raw materials are closely linked to petroleum prices. Past experience cannot help us pinpoint an ideal timing to lock orders. The key factors for deciding whether to order or hold off lie in your demand levels, inventory status and market conditions.
Generally speaking, if you have pending requirements, my suggestion is to place your order now. We can start following up on year-end orders for the three reasons below:
1. Raw material prices are rising sharply at present, allowing us to lock in rates for potential orders.
2. Freight rates are still high. There are 132 days until the Western New Year and 168 days until the Chinese New Year (which falls on 06 Feb 2027). Production takes roughly 30–35 days, with another 30–50 days required for shipping. Ample lead time needs to be reserved for factory production and delivery.
3. China is the world’s manufacturing hub. Based on historical experience, factories enter their peak busy season starting in October. During this period, freight will increase further and shipping space booking will become tougher.
Considering all the above factors, we recommend starting planning for your upcoming orders.
