Polyimide tape is made of polyimide film single side coated with silicone adhesive. It is used in applications as high as 280°C temperature without glue and color residual.
Polyimide tape has excellent thermal and electrical insulation properties, making it suitable for use in high temperature masking. It can flame retardant withstand temperature range up to 280°C without losing its properties or adhesive strength, and also has good chemical resistance and is resistant to most solvents, acids, and oils.
Applications:
Because of multiple and powerful features, Polyimide film tape can be used in various applications during manufacturing. With the very thin flexible carrier film, kapton tape can be either used to protect the circuit board during wave solder or reflow soldering or used as an electrical insulation components for capacitor and transformer wrapping. It’s also very well known to used in powder coating industry for high temperature masking. Polyimide kapton tape can be laminated to other materials like Aluminum foil, copper foil, glass cloth, etch to create different function and apply to different industry.
