3M 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape Alternatives
Premium-Grade All-Weather Vinyl Insulating Electrical Tape
Product Description:
This electrical insulation tape is a 7 mil (0.178 mm) thick, professional-grade all-weather vinyl electrical tape, engineered for primary insulation of wire/cable splices up to 600V, protective jacketing for high-voltage cable joints, indoor/outdoor harnessing, and corrosion inhibition of electrical conductors. It combines a flexible PVC backing with a pressure-sensitive rubber-resin adhesive to deliver moisture-sealed electrical and mechanical protection with minimal bulk.

Core Advantages:
Cold-Weather Usability: Appliable down to -18°C (0°F) without brittleness, ideal for winter outdoor installation.
Broad Compatibility: Works with solid dielectric cables, rubber/synthetic splicing compounds, epoxy/polyurethane resins; inhibits conductor corrosion.
All-Weather Durability: Resists UV, moisture, chemicals, and mechanical wear for long-term reliability indoors/outdoors.
Flame-Retardant: Meets UL safety standards for fire resistance.
Recommended Applications:
Primary insulation for wire/cable splices and busbars up to 600V (dry/wet conditions).
Protective jacketing for high-voltage cable splices and repairs.
Indoor/outdoor wire harnessing, bundling, and routing.
Corrosion protection for electrical conductors.
Application Guidelines:
Wrapping Technique: Wrap “uphill” (smaller to larger diameter); apply no tension on the final wrap to prevent flagging.
Insulation Protocol: For 600V/105°C splices: minimum 2 overlapping layers; for irregular surfaces, pre-wrap with insulation mastic or unlined rubber splicing tape (e.g., 3M 130C) before applying 33+.
End Sealing: Fold the tail end to form a tear-resistant protective cap.
Storage & Shelf Life:
Shelf life: 5 years from production date (unopened, stored at 10–27°C/50–80°F, away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity).
Compliance & Certifications:
UL Listed (UL 510), CSA Certified, RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant, ASTM D1000 Approved.
Note: The physical properties shown are tested by ASTM D 1000 or our own procedures, it is recommended that the buyer determine the suitability for his own purposes.
Storage:Shelf life recommended one year from the date of dispatch at the moderate temperature and humidity environment.
